Having been in the business of posters for the past 3 years
now, I realize with new designs coming in every month or so having an absolute
all time favorite is a hard thing to maintain.
Mostly it is a reflection of personal liking for particular the
TV series or the movie or the superhero, but with time I have grown to appreciate
the art that these posters actually are. When we began, one of my favorite ones
was an Audrey Hepburn large size poster in her renowned cult movie classic ‘Breakfast
at Tiffany’s’, in her black dress and pearls while the Manchester United Mosaic
was close to Mohit’s heart for obvious reasons.
Over the course of 3 years, our likes have ranged from Game
of Thrones, 5 kings 1 throne to Bob Marley Paint Splash Poster for its psychedelic
viewing pleasure, although I have personally never heard his music. Having
brought few designers on board with us, I have enjoyed Aviks creations
especially his take on Sherlock as played by Benedict Cumberbatch in the BBC
series to the artistically presented quotes by my co-founders brand Verita.
Mohit on the other hand has a more varied and broader
interest spectrum and has severely enjoyed the Superman logo to a Captain
America poster. He took great pleasure in Homer Simpson’s antics as well while
enjoying the pictogram poster from the popular day time series, Friends. His
room currently boasts posters of Dark Knight, Rooney and Eminem, while I on the
other hand have Audrey Hepburn, Paris and Friends.
But surprisingly or not, a common poster which we have
consistently enjoyed as well as have had opportunity to display at various
exhibitions and Comic Con across the country is Godfather – The Don.
Personally, I have enjoyed the color schematics on the poster of a cult trilogy
which has been a part of a true cinematic experience and what it represents,
while Mohit has just hands down loved the movie to have a framed 24x36 inch
poster hanging above his bed, making sure that’s the first and last thing he
sees every day.
That’s our favorite one or rather ones, or as its conventionally
called ‘Staff Picks’.
